Deal rating: Fair Price. Adjusted fair value: $2,500. Cracked seatpost clamp bolt insert requiring professional inspection or carbon repair Needs mechanical tune-up and setup Baseline NYC resale value for a complete Trek Speed Concept TT bike with Shimano Ultegra is ~$1,800. Deductions include -$500 for the frame defect (cracked seatpost bolt insert) and -$100 for a tune-up/setup. Adjusted fair market value without wheels is ~$1,200. Asking price of $1,500 without wheels is a fair price given the potential carbon repair needed. NYC market check: National comps for standard 2018 Trek Speed Concept builds range from $2,000 to $3,000 on platforms like Pinkbike and The Pro's Closet (with high-end custom Di2/race wheel builds listed higher). A ~10-15% NYC market adjustment was applied to account for high regional demand in the dense metro triathlon/cycling market.
