Vintage Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2 models in chrome typically fetch around $300 to $400 in the local NYC market depending on condition. While the chrome frame is well-preserved with minor age-related cosmetic wear, the $4,000 asking price is wildly above fair market value. Stock 1977 Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2 road bikes in good condition typically sell national comps in the $200 to $300 range, while NYC regional listings for comparable vintage Japanese-made Schwinn road bikes command a modest premium up to $350. Factoring in used component market values for the non-stock Shimano 600 and SunTour drivetrain elements against a stock build, the adjusted fair market value reconciles cleanly at $350, making the $4,000 ask absurdly overpriced.
