Minor paint nicks Rare Jan van Dalen handbuilt Dutch pursuit frames in lugged Columbus SLX steel typically command between 1000 and 1200 dollars in the NYC vintage track scene. Cosmetic wear is minimal with small paint chips and no structural frame damage. The seller asking price of 1250 dollars aligns well with its desirability and scarcity. European and national market comps for complete Jan van Dalen hand-built Duell steel road models range between $650 and $750. A 15% local market adjustment for New York City brings fair value to $850 for a complete bike in good condition with normal light wear.

"Up for grabs is incredibly rare and very beautiful Duell Pursuit track frame. PLEASE NOTE this is for FRAME AND FORK only. Listing photos are just a reference on how it looks built up. Duell is a high end brand out of the Netherlands with the frames being hand built by Jan Van Dalen. They are incredibly rare - and this is the only pursuit frame I've ever come across in my many years of collecting - with the Professional designation being his highest offering. I imported this frame from Europe almost 20 years ago after I saw it and fell in love with it. This is a lugged frame using Columbus SLX tubeset and the craftsmanship on this thing is gorgeous - as you'd expect from Jan Van Dalen. It features his signature on the TT as well as the Professional designation and has lovely panto on the fork frown and seat stay caps. This is 700c front and rear but it has very steep angles and very tight clearances as a true track bike should. The front end will NOT clear a 23 and it is currently running a 20c which just clears the downtube. As expected there is a lot of toe overlap as well so this is not for the faint of heart - but it is an absolute blast to ride - and honestly gets more comments and thumbs up than any other bike I own. By my measurements it's 60cm ctc ST and a 58 ctc TT. Because of the pursuit geometry the effective TT is closer to 54cm. I rode it for many years with Cinelli LA84 pursuit bars to really stretch out the reach but in recent years swapped over to risers. It's in incredible condition with a few very minor paint nicks here and there but absolutely no dents or dings. If the listing is up it's available...
